I got a preview tonight of what life will be like in the next two months when what was two roommates (me + Bang) turned to THREE roommates (me + Bang + Sish, as we have going on right now), turns to FOUR roommates (me + Bang + Sish + Dirty).
Loud, mouthy, hearty laughter filled every other minute of the debate – not at Sarah Palin (as much of a bumbler as I think she did, I don’t think she had the same level of “Tina Fey Moments” as she has in the past week or so), but just at each other at comments, calling each other names – lovingly – and drinking beers.
I’m excited for December 1. I’m excited for this change in seasons. New job, new roomies, new house in a couple of months… I think this is going to be refreshing.
And Sish brought in a great new chair/ottoman combo that I’m just loving.

I’ve said this BEFORE the Tina-Fey-makes-a-comeback-as-Sarah-Palin awesomeness, BUT. If I had my choice of a Hollywood threesome, I’d so bump uglies with Jon Stewart and Tina Fey.

That’s if it was about brains and intellectual sex appeal (which matters).
If we’re just talking shut-up-and-do-me, then… I’d start with some combination of Taye Diggs and Samaire Armstrong.

Hmm.

SO excited to do this tonight:

So, I started passing off tangible assignments to the coworkers that will be filling my shoes as I leave here in two weeks. Binders, folders, files, etc., all leaving my bookshelves and drawers and walking across the media floor to the two guys that will be maintaining the campaigns I’ve been responsible for.
I’m most sad about leaving one financial industry client behind. Honestly, they’re kind of high-maintenance, make a LOT of last-minute changes (read: pull out of campaigns altogether to “move their strategy in a different direction”), and require frequent last-minute projects that take whole days of my life away – BUT. It’s the one client I’ve worked on since I started here. I have great relationships with the sales side at the network we have our partnership with; I LOVE the content of the programming we’re in (COLLEGE FOOTBALL BABY!), and I just love the ownership feeling that comes with knowing that I have been a key part of this 5-year deal for the last two years.
It’s bittersweet, doing everything I’m doing now with a sense of finality, knowing that I truly am wrapping up projects and closing files on things.
I’m very excited for my new opportunity, especially for the direction it’s going to take me in the Online Media world in which I so love being involved.
But, love it or hate it, I’ve grown quite comfortable here, in this office, in this big agency business. Advertising may be dirty, gluttonous, and/or indulgent, but it is a fun, dynamic industry, and I like being a part of it.
Besides, I spent an hour on TV.com today doing research on last night’s ABC shows that premiered. My friend at our digital agency upstairs spent the day on YouTube.com, monitoring comments on the channel they created for one of their advertisers.
Sometimes I Facebook in the name of research.
The media career world has it’s advantages

Ok, I have a confession to make…
You know those people in your office that sneakily steal your cans and bottles of beverages out of the communal refrigerator?
Yeah… I’m so that person. Not like, all the time. But today, when there was an unlabeled Coke and I was dying for some carbonated refreshment? Yeah, I’m drinking it.
Let this be a lesson to label your stuff.
I’m terrible, I know. Don’t hold it against me.

Yes, I’m quite excited to see the debates tonight between veep hopefuls Biden and Palin. I’m not sure which I’m more excited for, though – tonight’s debates or Tina Fey’s sure-to-follow parody of Palin on SNL this weekend.
Either way, a handful of pals and I are going to be sitting around my living room, watching the likely shitshow that will follow. I’ve heard of a couple of people turning the spectacle into a drinking game:
Funny, eh? Yeah. I have to dominate a shuffleboard table tonight before the debates start, but I think it’s going to shape up to be a nice Thursday evening.
Shuffleboard? Oh yeah. My friends and are in a league (actually, we ARE the league) on Thursday nights at my favorite bar, The Herkimer (they’re the ones that sponsor our kickass softball team), and the season starts tonight. My teammate is New Friend Alissa. Our team name? Pucker Up.
Oh yeah.

No, not men, although one could argue that the still-single ones sure are tough to find.
I’m getting ready to finally make the Big Girl Blog move and buy my own domain. The problem? I can’t commit to one. The easy answer is just to buy this one, and I could; it’s available. But I’m trying to come up with something short and sweet, memorable and clever, cute and sassy, personal and relevant, all at the same time.
And fail.
I invite y’all to weigh in on this. Is it confusing to change it altogether? Or – if I’m going to cough up the money for it – should I pick one I heart big time? Enlighten me. I can’t make a decision.

Have you noticed some of the fall trends on the racks right now? I breezed through The Gap and Target today over my lunch break and saw the following:
Honestly, I totally love it.

I’m going to see WWE – Monday Night Raw tonight. How weird is that?! We got tickets from Fox Sports, and they’re something like 5 rows up from the ring. OMG! I used to watch The Rock entice the crowds on Friday nights. I’d watch with my high school bf because he was super into it. Me? I fought it for a long time, but eventually got roped into the soap opera story lines. That was 8+ years ago, and here I am, actually presented with the chance to see it live and in my city.
So… Matt and Libby (coworkers) and I will be boozing a little before hand (something tells me WWE is more fun when you’ve had a few), and then will venture down to the Target Center to see it all in it’s giant, sweaty glory.
Anyone else ever enjoyed “pro” wrestling like this???
